چکیده:
The tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), one of the largest groups of drugs for treatment ofpsychiatric disorders, are widely used for treatment of depression. Because of the high anduncontrolled consumption of these drugs in recent years; today, they remain in the environmentalsamples as one of the pollutants contaminates, especially in sewage, surface, ground, anddrinking water samples. Residues of pharmaceutical compounds normally present in very smallamounts in environmental samples; therefore, a pretreatment step should be used for extractionof these trace amounts of the target compounds in real samples. One of the most importantobjectives of modern analytical chemistry is miniaturization, simplification and automation ofthe whole analytical procedure, especially to speed up sample treatment, which is currently thebottleneck of analysis. In this review article, various methods for determination of trace amountsof these drugs, based on the microextraction of these compounds in water, blood plasma andurine samples were investigated.
